With just weeks to go until this year’s edition of Sun Soaked, Kaskade has officially canceled the two-day event.
Over the past two years, Kaskade has brought his signature vibes and paired them with the beach backdrop in Long Beach for one of the best summertime parties to attend in Southern California: Sun Soaked. Rapidly growing in size to meet the demand of his die-hard fans who flocked in from near and far, the footprint of the event expanded prior to this year’s announcement that they would be expanding to two days.
The addition of a second day was paired with a more diverse lineup that featured artists like Logic and Grimes along with some dance music artists like Ravell, Brohug, and Wenzday. Over the past few weeks, it seemed as if ticket sales weren’t where they hoped they’d be at as a last minute Friends & Family sale also prompted the complaints of many who had paid full price for their passes. Today, Kaskade took to social media to officially announce that this year’s edition of Sun Soaked has been canceled.
In true Kaskade fashion of being open and honest with his fans, he penned a short letter explaining the situation that was at hand. With just three weeks to go until the festival, he felt that this year’s edition of Sun Soaked was falling short from the standards that they hoped to achieve. Left with a choice of moving forward with an event that wouldn’t meet his standards or canceling, he chose the latter of the two.
All tickets for Sun Soaked will be automatically refunded in full within 21 days with no need for any action on behalf of the ticket purchasers. Read his full statement on Twitter below:
