After sustaining a serious ankle injury during a show in Las Vegas on May 25, Martin Garrix has unfortunately had to cancel his upcoming performances.
As one of the biggest artists in the electronic music scene right now, Martin Garrix has continued to leave a lasting impression on listeners around the globe with his stunning productions. Having wowed fans at festivals like Ultra Miami and drawing an absolutely massive crowd at EDC Las Vegas this year it was clear that he would dominate the scene with another string of epic sets this festival season.
On May 25, Martin Garrix sustained a serious injury to his ankle while performing in Las Vegas. While he originally bit the bullet and carried on with some shows while also spending some time recovering, today he has announced that he’ll need to take a leave from performing to get surgery and heal properly to avoid permanent damage.
This means that his upcoming sets at festivals like Ultra Singapore and Spring Awakening Music Festival have been canceled, along with other shows and festivals that are in the near future. We’re wishing him a speedy recovery and can’t wait to have him taking the stage again as soon as he’s fully recovered!
’’I’m devastated that I have to cancel these shows since nothing makes me happier than performing for you guys. I feel most alive when I’m on stage, seeing you guys smile. I was really looking forward to it and I never want to disappoint my fans. Unfortunately, this is out of my control and I will need surgery and enough rest to fully recover. If I won’t get surgery now I might permanently damage my ankle, which could mean I won’t be able to perform at all anymore.
