Eric Prydz defies expectations by unveiling a new concept called V O I D – for Creamfields Steel Yard!
By now, we expect Creamfields to bring awesome experiences to the masses every summer in the United Kingdom. Last year, we saw Eric Prydz debut Holo in the Steelyard, the Kaleidoscope Orchestra rock with an Avicii tribute in classical form, and sets from dance music royalty from around the world. This year is shaping up to be just as immense! In fact, there’s the chance you may enter the Void, but more on that later!
As we discussed in our lineup piece, there is plenty to love for all fans. Techno heads have to love the debut of Adam Beyer 🔲 Cirez D as a UK Debut. Then there are house legends Faithless who return with a DJ performance. Likewise, the return of The Chemical Brothers rocking the beats with their fresh new album. Steel Yard brings Carl Cox’s INTEC brand to the forefront with everyone from Pan-Pot to UMEK. We’ve got takeovers with All Gone Pete Tong, Seven20 x Mau5trap with a testpilot set thrown in the mix, and Anjunabeats and Andy C hosting stages. Tag along with Martin Garrix’s STMPD brand, and of course mainstage performances by deadmau5, Fatboy Slim, Calvin Harris, MK, and the reunited Swedish House Mafia, and dance music fans will be going crazy. With the full lineup already announced what more could the festival offer?
Eric Prydz will debut a very unique experience in V O I D.
If the above didn’t get you excited and you are a Prydz fan, you have to be excited for his latest announcement for the infamous Steelyard at Creamfields. Prydz has teamed up with the brand to create a one-of-a-kind show set up especially for the unique conditions of the Steelyard. What exactly this means is yet to be discussed or revealed. In the words of promoter Cream: “The idea of this collaboration was to design and create a production concept exclusively for Steel Yard, utilising and transforming its unique space through light, design and a unique installation.”
What will Eric do to bend light to his unique atmosphere? Will it be dark like the days of Black Dice in Las Vegas? Will it be similar to his residency at HI Ibiza? Will it incorporate holograms or leave them for something new?
We do know this: V O I D = Visual, Offset, Isometric, Design.
