Celebrate spring with LOVE TAPS and Chi Duly’s warm-weather banger “Way Over My Head”!
It may only be March, but it’s never too early to get ready for summer with some good ole’ fashioned tropical bass. LA and NY-based producers LOVE TAPS and Chi Duly deliver the warm-weather vibes today with their latest track “Way Over My Head”, featuring singer-songwriter Melika‘s addicting vocals.
Full of tropical house melodies and plenty of island percussion, this track is sure to keep you grooving straight through spring all the way to the nearest beach come summer. Melika’s infectious vocals feed into this tropical vibe in the best way, delivering a feel-good chorus and hooks that make “Way Over My Head” a must-add to your latest playlist.
To complement the track, LOVE TAPS and Chi Duly will also release the accompanying lyric video, which features an aerial view via drone of Southern California that’s been warped and re-imagined to create the trippy lyrical backdrop for the song. The drone footage is courtesy of Mike Bishop, and directed by Nathan Chojnacki who was the mastermind behind the project. The breathtaking SoCal landscapes serve as the ultimate background for LOVE TAPS and Chi Duly’s lyrics, so don’t forget to check the video out tomorrow!
Without further ado, we are proud to premiere the lyric video for “Way Over My Head”! Watch the video below, stream or purchase the track on your favorite platform, and let us know what your thoughts are in the comments!

“We had met and known Melika for a little while in NYC and had gone seen her perform in a few different coffee shops in BK. We all decided to get together one day and listen to a few different beats. Melika had just met someone and that’s always the best time for someone to write a love song. She wrote it in a matter of hours and that was pretty much it. A few weeks later we went to record and she revealed that she had added a little Spanish part and that pretty much solidified the song as it is now.”

Hi! I directed this video and got left out of the article
After we did the shoot with Mike, all the footage had to be motion-tracked and then camera-solved. Solving is a process where the computer can make an accurate guess as to where the camera exists in a 3-dimensional space by analyzing tracking points that are applied to the raw footage. 3D Software is then used to re-construct the environment, and a healthy dose of displacement maps and fun visual effects complete the “trippy lyrical backdrop” that Sydney describes so eloquently.
Hit me up if you want to know more or would like me to direct a music video for you. Disclaimer: I will be including my name in the actual video somewhere…
Thanks to Sydney! I appreciate the update
