#TBT || Hardwell – Spaceman

Let’s take it all the way back to 2012 with the release of Hardwell’s massive tune “Spaceman”!

What were you listening to six years ago? Perhaps you were bumping some Swedish House Mafia, maybe you were grooving to some Laidback Luke or Calvin Harris at the time. But if you were attending events and festivals one thing was for certain, the inability to escape the rising force that was Hardwell and more specifically his banger of a tune “Spaceman”.

Bringing those Dirty Dutch House vibes with him wherever he played, Hardwell drew enormous crowds and had them getting down and dirty on the dancefloor. Having already made a mark on the scene with tracks like “Move It 2 The Drum” with Chuckie and “Zero 76” with Tiesto, it was only a matter of time before he would ascend to the top of the charts.

Dropping “Spaceman” in 2012, it quickly became Hardwell’s Anthem, the perfect start to his epic sets on mainstages around the world. The track also helped propel him, along with a slew of other releases that year like “Apollo” and “How We Do”, to reach monumental levels of popularity and inevitably giving him the #1 position on DJ Mag’s Top 100 the following year.

Aside from the original, six and a half minute version of the tune, it also received a vocal mix that became well received by many. Mitch Crown provided the vocals for the track and it was re-named “Call Me A Spaceman” for a second release. This, alongside many other remixes from artists in the scene, are what you’ll most commonly hear played out in sets.

Hardwell ft. Mitch Crown – Call Me A Spaceman – Lyrics:

Through the milky way
In my spaceship
At the speed of light
I’m gonna make it
I know you’ve been expecting me
Turn on the camera’s take another scene
We go like hands up people get with the show
We’re taking over people lose control
And that’s my DJ reaching my soul
And for the stars my people we never fall

Yes I’m an alien
When I’m touching the earth
Call me a spaceman
When I travel universe
Yes I’m an alien
When I’m touching the earth
Call me a spaceman
When I travel universe
Call me a spaceman x5

Through the milky way
In my spaceship
At the speed of light
I’m gonna make it
I know you’ve been expecting me
Turn on the camera’s take another scene
We go like hands up people get with the show
We’re taking over people lose control
And that’s my DJ reaching my soul
And for the stars my people we never fall

Yes I’m an alien
When I’m touching the earth
Call me a spaceman
When I travel universe
Yes I’m an alien
When I’m touching the earth
Call me a spaceman
When I travel universe
Call me a spaceman x5
