Restricted and Junkie Kid join forces on “Pump This Party,” a mega-collaboration on Revive Records.

After much anticipation, the 2025 edition of Basscon Wasteland finally came and went. This year, the festival switched things up by bringing in a multitude of hard techno titans alongside the legends and rising talent of the traditional harder styles. Apart from the leveled-up production and incredible lineup, one of the biggest stories from the weekend is that hard techno phenom Restricted has joined forces with icon Junkie Kid for a brand-new collaboration titled “Pump This Party,” landing on Revive Records.

During each artist’s set, “Pump This Party” rang through the speakers at Basscon Wasteland, met with instant satisfaction from kick-hungry ravers on the dancefloor. As two of the leaders of the contemporary hard techno style, Junkie Kid and Restricted have raised the bar once again with quality and energy. And the best part? This track defies current norms and clocks in at just over five minutes in length, with every second needed for such a sonic journey.

If ADHD was a track, it would be this. All we wanted was to make the 3 drops completely different, but still fit in one track while keeping it exciting and energetic. We took influence from early hardstyle artists like Showtek and TNT and merged it with industrial/raw elements, old school vocals, and too many fake drops. I have been loving to play this one out over the summer and is always a highlight in our sets.

Restricted

Marking the first time these two have crossed paths, “Pump This Party” combines the larger-than-life presentation of Restricted with Junkie Kid’s technical precision. The result is a banger that’s both mainstage-ready and destined for late-night raves in warehouses.

Listeners will find hypnotic, chopped vocals guided by driving hi-hats and punchy vocals in the first half to get the party started. The second half offers more elements from the contemporary style of hard techno. Reverse bass, monstrous screeches, and filthy pre-drops featuring distorted zaagkicks reverberate through the speakers.

This collaboration perfectly represents the no boundaries mentality that’s rapidly spreading among the scene, proving that two artists with different styles can come together for greatness. Junkie Kid comes from a hardstyle background, but his technical prowess seamlessly blends with Restricted’s fresh outlook on hard techno, resulting in a collaboration fit to take over the airwaves.

Working with Rhys on this one was so much fun. Since we use the same DAW, we are always talking about how bad or good the DAW is. We finally decided to finish this collab; we have been working on it for months now. I love how it came out. It’s a total crowd hyper. I’m pretty sure this is not gonna be our only collab together. But in the meantime, enjoy this banger.
