STS9, Detox Unit, Shpongle, Papadosio, Lotus, Opiuo, Beats Antique, Ott., 5AM Trio, and more are set to perform at Resonate Suwannee this spring.
Resonate Suwannee Music and Arts Festival is going down once again at the hallowed grounds of the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida.
There’s a curious intersection in dance music where improvisers, experimenters and sonic rule breakers of all sorts meet. On May 15-17, Resonate Suwannee will present a lineup that blends instrumentalism and EDM, bringing artists new and old into the fold.
This year’s bill does not skimp on diversity of style. The lineup includes artists from the realms of world fusion, psychedelia, and jam-electronic to the untapped depths of downtempo, trip-hop, and jazz-inspired bass music.
Whether you’re craving a satisfying guitar shred or a vibey, twirlable groove, Lotus has your back. As they’re a beloved jamtronica staple, you can count on Lotus to deliver a dance party. Cimafunk, Grammy-nominated Cuban beatmaker and genre defier, makes his return to Resonate Suwannee to deliver an absolutely must-hear fusion of funk, hip-hop, and Afro-Caribbean dance music.
Shpongle and Beats Antique will each bring their distinct world sound to Live Oak this spring. Their presence at Resonate assures dance fans that the days of veggie buses and Creature Carnival remain a quintessential node in the ever-expanding web of dance music culture.
Opiuo is among the headliners who will be performing this year — but there’s a twist. The line-up reads: “Opiuo: A New Live Experience.” The producer himself took to the comments to respond saying, “VERY EXCITED” followed by a violin and trumpet and heart emoji. Could he be bringing The Opulent Orchestra along for some swampy fun?
Treading alongside the footprints of the Avant-Garde and the unordinary, Thought Process will debut a live band performance featuring Foxtail, Duffrey, Quinn Allman and Brotha Nature.
Josh Teed is another notable Resonate debut. We know he is about to knock more than a few socks off with his epic bass sound at the Spirit of the Suwannee. If we’re lucky, he might even bring out the didgeridoo.
The next generation of jam and innovative indie sounds is primed and ready to take Resonate by storm. Strictly Liquid, The Yeah Babys, and Danitza will all make their festival debut at Resonate Suwannee.
Bass-loving ethnomusicologist, DJ, producer, and global music selector Balkan Bump is also poised to bring his trail-blazing sounds to the swamp. More bass, downtempo, and wonky, genre-bending beats are on the way as Resonate welcomes Deca, Duffrey, Ott., Algorythm, Somatoast, Desert Dwellers, 5AM Trio (5AM, Zone Drums, and Keith Dubbleyou of Wax Future) and more gems to be discovered.
The producers of Resonate, Essential Productions, know that a legendary music and arts festival is about more than good music. It is also about building community and spending quality time in nature.
Resonate is set to offer multiple movement and art workshops, including yoga. The park itself also boasts a wide variety of outdoor activities including fishing, boating, and disc golf, just beyond your campsite on the banks of the Suwannee river. What sport pairs better with jam bands than disc golf, anyway?
Escape to the cult classic Floridian music park and get down to cutting edge sounds at the corner of live instrumentation and electronic music. Passes are on sale now on the Resonate Suwannee website.
