Armin van Buuren & Pasquale Rotella Leak US Edition of A State Of Trance Festival

Armin van Buuren was joined by Pasquale Rotella during a special ADE edition of A State Of Trance and leaked the news that a US edition of ASOT Festival is in the works.

A State of Trance has long been at the forefront of the dance music scene as a radio show, but its festival experience in The Netherlands has been unmatched for trance family members. Earlier this year, it was revealed that this behemoth experience would now be presented by Insomniac‘s newly minted division, Insomniac Europe—and after today’s radio show episode during ADE Week, it seems that there’s even more planned.

Armin van Buuren and Ruben de Ronde are currently in the midst of a massive ten-hour broadcast of A State Of Trance (Episode 1195) and were joined for a chat by Insomniac Founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella. Pasquale shared an emotional moment from a past when catching Armin play before Ruben asked him what led to the decision to take on the challenge of hosting ASOT.

“You call it a challenge. I call it an opportunity,” Pasquale said. “We organize trance music events, but there’s only one Armin, there’s only one ASOT. I’m excited, the whole team is excited, and it’s an honor. We want to be an amazing resource to make it the best… well, it already is, but to elevate it however we can and really make it an even easier process and do some stuff that has not happened before as well.”

This led to Armin telling Pasquale that he always wanted to bring A State Of Trance Festival to the US and that the future was bright for the beloved brand. Pasquale then leaked the news that the festival would be crossing the Atlantic Ocean for an edition on American soil in the future.

What better place to leak it. I couldn’t be more excited. Although born here in The Netherlands, and what you’ve built is absolutely amazing, your fans are everywhere all over the world. In the States, there needs to be a massive, perfectly produced ASOT Festival.

While Insomniac has hosted events in Europe in the past, including EDC UK, Dreamstate Europe, and Secret Project Festival in Portugal, which was originally intended to be another edition of EDC, this year has seen them bolster their presence. Insomniac Europe is set to host Amsterdam Music Festival (AMF) during ADE this year, as well as the upcoming edition of A State Of Trance Festival in Rotterdam next year. They also recently partnered with Cosmopop, which has the legendary techno event series Time Warp in its portfolio, for future events.

A State Of Trance has previously held satellite editions in the United States, and Armin van Buuren has toured plenty, but a full-fledged festival has never occurred. The most recent edition of A State Of Trance on US soil occurred in 2022 during the ASOT1000 celebration when Armin van Buuren and his crew took over the then Banc of California Stadium, now BMO Stadium, for a one-night affair.

Details on this new experience from ASOT and Insomniac are limited, but it’s anticipated to occur as soon as 2025. Check out the full interview below, and follow both brands on social media to stay tuned for more details.
