Oddly Godly returns to Ophelia Records to make his solo debut on the imprint with an energetic two-tracker, DEEP END / FOREVER.
Seven Lions’ Ophelia Records has played host to a number of established artists over the years who have brought their production prowess to the imprint with remarkable releases that push boundaries. But the imprint isn’t always about major players in the scene, as they’ve showcased a hearty helping for forward-thinking producers on the rise as well. This week, they’ve continued that trend with a solo debut from Oddly Godly.
Those who have been paying attention to labels like Sable Valley, Bassrush Records, and NRG Records over the past year have been treated to the unique sounds that Oddly Godly has created lately. Not only has this US-based artist graced those imprints with a dynamic blend of trap, wave, and dubstep, but he also gained his first release on Ophelia when he remixed the label boss’ track with GG Magree, “Falling Fast,” earlier this year. Now, he’s back with a double dose of bass on DEEP END / FOREVER.
This two-tracker marks the solo debut for Oddly Godly on Ophelia, and both tracks fly forward at a rapid pace. “DEEP END” leads the charge with its relentless energy as he layers in punchy drums, modulated vocals, and other juicy elements to make it stand out. On the flip side, “FOREVER,” is a bit deeper and darker while still retaining the power that Oddly Godly brings to his releases. The vocal-dominated intro adds plenty of atmosphere to the tune before giving way to its breakbeat-fueled ride that will leave you gripping onto anything you can find for dear life. There’s one more quick break in the action before blowing listeners away with its second drop that you’ll want to hear for yourself.
