French producer Jickow crafts two deep, dark melodic techno soundscapes that capture the essence of his immersive style.
Jickow is quickly becoming a name in the realm of progressive house and melodic techno that fans should keep an eye on. From his early days when he took his first steps as an artist in Southern France to finding a home in Brussels, where he has fully begun to blossom, this artist has left impressive tunes and performances in his wake. Past releases from Jickow have found a home on labels like Krafted Records, Addictive Sounds, Treasure Records, and Movement Recordings, but for his latest release, he’s returned to his home on Olympe.
Last year saw Jickow drop deep house track “House Of Vetti” on Olympe, and this time around, he’s gone even deeper with an immersive two-tracker, Escapism / Echoes. The lead track, “Escapism,” begins this trip into the melodic techno realm with a bassline that thuds forward into the darkness of the night. The hypnotic atmosphere offers a touch of eerieness as you traverse this plane of existence, leaving you wondering what twists and turns will come around each turn.
Percussion leads the way on “Echoes” as Jickow kicks off the second track with stripped-back production before layering in melodic elements as the seconds tick away. While still retaining the deep, dark signature sound, the synths he packs into this track find a way to uplift the mind, body, and soul – it’s an absolute gem of a tune that you’ll find yourself coming back to again and again.
