Rising bass house producers return to House Call Records to show off their talent on the newly launched compilation series, Call Backs Vol. 1.

House Call Records, the label fronted by house mogul Dr. Fresch, has put some of the hottest burgeoning artists on the map with the beloved Caller ID radio show on Insomniac Radio. Launched in 2020, the show taps the best of the best upcoming artists in the bass house scene to show off their unreleased music, and each episode inevitably has people clamoring for track names and wondering when they can expect track releases. Answering their wishes, House Call Records launched the Caller ID compilation series, which takes some of the most noteworthy IDs featured on the show and gives them official releases.

With four volumes of the Caller ID series now in the books, a slew of emerging artists have gotten a platform to grab the attention of bass house lovers with their irresistible tunes. Now, House Call has launched a new series called Call Backs, which looks to alums of the Caller ID series to showcase their production prowess again. Out now, Call Backs Vol. 1 features tracks by returning artists DEVOWR., AK RENNY, Andrew Lux, Tan House, and more, who deliver unique tracks that pack quite the punch.

Having previously collaborated on Caller ID Vol. 3, DEVOWR. and AK RENNY team up once again to kick off the EP with “Spinnin Heads.” With a stomping beat and exuberant vocals, the track lives up to its name, as it’s guaranteed to get your head spinning upon listening. Andrew Lux makes a grand return with the ultra-hype “Underdog,” and his expertise in crafting party-starting bangers is put on display with even more ferocity this second time around. Switching the vibe up, Tan House opts for oscillating percussion and a hypnotic bassline on “Earthquake,” making for a track that feels reminiscent of psytrance stylings.

Kicking off the second half of the EP, Adame Twins and AK RENNY team up on a hard-hitting cut, “Shooters,” which features hip hop-esque vocals, arpeggiating synths, and drums that could knock you out. Moving forward, Houseium and TRYPBOX‘s tune “Rouge” kicks the tempo back up with some classic house elements, complete with syncopated percussion, zestful synths, and even some hints of piano notes. Finally, HONÜ and Dyce close the EP out with a face-melting collaboration that proves two house heads are better than one. “WOAH” offers subterranean bass and pitched-down vocals by rapper RegularAssRandy that will leave you calling all your best friends to hit the nearest club.

Stream Call Backs Vol. 1 on your preferred platform, tune into Insomniac Radio to catch the Caller ID radio show every Monday at 3pm PT, and let us know on Twitter which tracks from the EP are your favorite!
