Break Science Blooms with the ‘Mecha Flora’ EP

Electro-funk duo Break Science reunites for their newest release to revel in, Mecha Flora, which features their signature elevated sound.

The pot is stirring in the electronica world and has recently brewed a gorgeous harmony of electro-funk, bass, and experimental music from the minds of Break Science. Adam Deitch from Lettuce and Borahm Lee from the Pretty Lights Band come together on this project to deliver the brainchild of musical exceptionalism in its highest form. Now, after a brief hiatus from the project, the two have curated one of their hottest releases yet in the form of the Mecha Flora EP.

The Mecha Flora EP brings a fresh, modern glow to the current discography, with a hint of nostalgia for their past works. With blends of lo-fi, jazz, groove electronica, and hip-hop, a concoction of flavorful and layered tracks encapsulate the six-track collection. The conversation between Lee’s piano progressions and Deitch’s hypnotic percussive breaks alone makes Mecha Flora their most elevated release yet since their 2018 release Grid Of Souls.

The title track introduces listeners straight into a hypnotic, funk-ified, groove session, leading into “Live Twice” with Brazilian rapper Niko Is adding some soul to the collection. “The Callin” takes it one step deeper with warping synths into a slow, neo-funk piece with heavy basslines and powerful progressions. “Steady Within” features fan-favorite Lily Fangz, with her clever lyricism on top of a gorgeous, hip-hop-heavy psychedelic break. To finalize the collection “Share The Stealth” is a creative masterpiece with intricate sampling and layering of rhythmic conversations and glimmerings of piano voices, while “Crystal Lake” gives a jazzy, lo-fi feeling paired with some groovy guitar licks.

You’ll only want one thing after listening to Mecha Flora in full – to experience the jams in a live session. Make sure to follow Break Science on socials, stream Mecha Flora on your desired platform, and head on over to our Twitter to keep up with all the latest music news!
