The Prototypes Team Up with Bassrush Records for ‘Interaction’

The Prototypes curate a hearty offering of tunes from rising stars in the drum and bass scene for Interaction – out now on Bassrush Records.

The sound of drum and bass continues has permeated the scene for decades, but the past few years have seen the genre continue to gain ground in the hearts and minds of those who hadn’t yet explored its reaches. Insomniac’s Bassrush Records has continued to help propel the genre to new heights, and now they’ve revealed the latest compilation for fans to feast their ears on, Interaction. This collection of tunes is a first for the imprint as they collaborated with beloved British duo The Prototypes to bring it to life.

Interaction clocks in at 14 tracks that help showcase the current era of drum and bass and where it’s heading in the future. The Protoypes kick everything off with the title track of the compilation, which was originally meant to be released on their album Ten Thousand Feet and Rising but wasn’t ready to go in time. As you listen to the intro of “Interaction,” you’ll feel like you’re revving your engines for the ride that’s about to ensue – and once you’ve stepped on the gas, there’s no looking back as you’re faced with its energetic bassline.

It’s off to the races from “Interaction” on as a flurry of tunes from artists like Audioscribe, Rebel Scum, Bare Up, Sota, Hologram, and more permeate the rest of the tracklist. “Lights Out” from Subshock and Evangelos was an immediate standout as a jump up tune that is sure to ignite a fire in your soul, while the vocal is layered in for added impact.

Slippy‘s “Wanna Know” arrives right after and is another solid offering that will leave listeners breathless with its punchy percussion. This one will dominate your soul when you listen, so make sure you give it a spin. Those looking for a blend of soothing vocals and impactful bass will also want to check out Dux n Bass and Ni/Co‘s “Don’t Give Up On Me,” while the ever-intense “Bring The Noise” by PERSONA NON GRATA is one that’s filled with a heavy dose of distortion.
