SnowGlobe Cancels 2021 Edition Due to COVID Concerns

Beloved New Year’s Eve festival SnowGlobe has decided to cancel their edition this year due to “uncertainty and growth of new COVID-19 variants.”

Since its inception, dance music lovers from near and far have gathered in South Lake Tahoe to dance their hearts out and welcome in the new year at SnowGlobe. Past editions of the festival have featured some of the biggest names in the scene like Skrillex, FISHER, ZHU, and GRiZ, while also supporting rising artists who continue to carve out their space such as Elohim, Kaivon, and CloZee.

But as many begin to make their plans to celebrate NYE, SnowGlobe dashed the thoughts of many who were hoping to return to the festival by announcing that they will remain in hibernation until 2022. The festival’s organizers took to their social media accounts earlier today to explain that the reasoning behind the decision was due to concerns surrounding COVID-19 and the growth of new variants.

Out [of] an abundance of caution and for the safety of our guests and partners, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s festival due to the uncertainty and growth of new COVID-19 variants.
