Polar Inc. Returns to This Never Happened with His ‘Journal’

After landing on Root to Branch, Vol. 5, Polar Inc. has made his way back to This Never Happened with his latest release, the Journal EP.

The sweet sounds of melodic house continue to reign supreme in the new year and Polar Inc. is helping further prove that point. This South African producer began to stake his claim on the scene back in 2019 with releases on Ambious Records, but caught the ear of Lane 8 soon after. This led to his tracks being included in the Fall 2020 mixtape and an appearance with two tracks on Root to Branch Vol. 5.

Now, Polar Inc. is furthering his growth among other brilliant producers in the This Never Happened family with the release of his three-track Journal EP. Out now across all platforms, the tunes on this EP feature pleasant atmospheres that offer up momentary serenity amidst the madness of the world.

Leading with title track “Journal,” Polar Inc. begins with soft piano notes and a subtle vocal sample before diving into the chilled-out soundscape. Its cool to the touch but evokes a feeling of warmth and comfort when the notes grace your ears. “Elve” arrives next with a similar, slow start but quickly picks up the pace as he layers in synths and other tasty elements to take the track to the next level. Then, he puts a bow on the release with “Heirloom.” This tune is one that will have listeners feeling like they’re floating among the clouds, or maybe just above the treetops on a densely packed forest, as its melody runs through the mind.

Taking to Instagram to dive deeper into the release, Polar Inc. said, “I’ve always been a fan of what brought me to listening to Lane 8 and This Never Happened, clever vocal chops, unique leads, and using house music as a medium to express. I really wanted to tap into those unique signature qualities through this EP whilst bringing my own Polar Inc. feel to it. Making this EP brought me a bit of fantasy, motivation, and a general feeling of being uplifted, I hope it does for you too.”
