Ammo Avenue Paints with Multiple Shades of House Music on ‘Bipolar’

Peruvian producer Ammo Avenue makes his debut on Cloonee’s Hellbent Records with a three-track EP, Bipolar.

Since launching Hellbent Records, Cloonee has carved out a unique lane for the imprint, favoring funky basslines, playful vocal chops, and stripped-back tech house built more for DJ sets than radio. This framework makes Ammo Avenue‘s style a seamless fit.

Making his Hellbent debut, the Peruvian producer delivers Bipolar, a three-track EP that slots right into the label’s growing catalog of killer club weapons. With his other projects landing on labels such as Hot Creations, Black Book, Metamorfosi, and Mindshake, he’s shown fans time and again that he understands what to bring to the dancefloor.

The title track wastes no time locking listeners into its flow. Chunky low end, crisp percussion, and acid synth lines create a rolling rhythm that sucks listeners into its groove.

Then, things take a brighter turn with “Retro Dance.” Thanks to its vocal hook and a bounciness, it’s the EP’s most immediately memorable cut. The track’s playful energy is reminiscent of the crowd-pleasing moments championed by Jamie Jones, Michael Bibi, and The Martinez Brothers. Songs like these feel just as fitting at DC-10 or Hï Ibiza as they do during a sunset set at Day Trip.

Closing out the release is “Gettin’ Real,” a single that may well be the EP’s most underrated offering. Funky percussion is offset by minimalist production, creating a special counterbalance that allows every musical element to be felt. Fans of Cloonee’s own productions will recognize the emphasis on rhythm and pacing, where small shifts in sound create just as much impact as a dramatic drop.

What makes Bipolar work is its balance. The irony, right? But if fans listen closely, each track explores a different corner of modern house music. From acid, minimal, and deep elements to vocal-driven bounce, all three songs are united by the artist’s instinct to bring those aspects together into one release.

For his first outing on Hellbent Records, Ammo Avenue delivers a release that not only complements Cloonee’s vision for the label but also reinforces why he’s become one of Peru’s most exciting house music producers.
