Flux Pavilion and Doctor P are back with a thunderous, genre-defying testament to their creative synergy.

When it comes to bass music, few names command as much respect as Flux Pavilion and Doctor P. The duo have been shaping the dubstep landscape for over a decade, and they’re finally giving fans what they’ve been waiting for: a full-length collaborative album. Released via Circus Records, the label they co-founded 15 years ago, Doctor P & Flux Pavilion is a culmination of their lifelong friendship and unwavering dedication to pushing sonic boundaries.

With over 20 years of creative synergy, Flux Pavilion and Doctor P have developed an almost telepathic connection in the studio. Their signature blend of electrifying drops, intricate melodies, and gut-punching basslines has stood the test of time, and this self-titled album is a testament to its evolution. Rather than simply revisiting their past, they’ve crafted a body of work reflecting their history and current artistic vision.

We wanted to write an album that not just encapsulates who we are right now but who we have been for our entire lives. In one moment, it’s a serious body of work, and in the next, it’s two friends messing around on computers. In truth, our message has always been ‘why not both?’ A lot of the time, the simplest parts of life are lost in the complexities. This album celebrates one of those universal truths: life is meant to be fun.

The album’s first single, “WDGAF,” sets the tone with its unapologetic energy, signaling that the duo are back in full force. This track reminds us why they became household names in the first place: infectious sound design, relentless energy, and a pure love for bass music. Meanwhile, songs like “Feel Good Ltd,” “Rubber Dub,” and “Wasabi” blend futuristic bass elements with their iconic, timeless soundscapes.

Another incredible standout is — and I feel silly even typing this track name — “Hot Piss,” which intertwines hypnotic wubs with live band elements to lead into what I would consider the heaviest drop of the album. “I Love It” feels like stepping into a world of anime and early, boppy EDM that quickly morphs into another bass-ridden banger.

More than just a collection of tracks, this album feels like a full-circle moment for two pioneers who helped define modern bass music. It’s a nod to their roots that still embraces new sonic territories, proving that Flux Pavilion and Doctor P are still innovating even after decades in the game.

Whether you’ve been a fan since the early Circus Records days or are just discovering their magic, this album is a must-listen. It’s a testament to friendship, passion, and the unyielding power of bass.

Jackie Peppler

Based in Southern California, Jackie grew up with a profound love for all things dance music. She found a home in the festival scene and realized her dream of pursuing a career in music and event production at just fourteen. Over the years, she has worked in various facets of the industry, including writing for various media outlets, managing social media at Audio San Francisco, organizing local events with Burning Man, and working as artist transportation at festivals like Life Is Beautiful. She fell in love with Anjunadeep during her time at Audio, with progressive and deep house encapsulating her heart. However, her music taste spans far and wide, so you never know which side of the festival grounds you may find her at. When she's not bopping around a festival, you'll likely find her behind the decks as DJ JAKLŸN.
