Minnesota Bids Farewell to Fans With Unforgettable Final Release

Beloved bass music artist Minnesota brings an era to a close with his final release, a 40-track album titled Solid State Discoveries.

Electronic music producer Christian Bauhofer, also known as Minnesota, forever holds a special place in our hearts. Since his arrival on the scene, he’s won over countless fans with his funky festival sets and signature West Coast bass style. Responsible for anthems like “HiLow” and “Too Faced” as well as his iconic Bicycle Day mixes, the California DJ and producer was undeniably a formative artist in the era during which West Coast bass took the scene by storm.

Now, Minnesota has announced his departure from the dance music space under his current moniker. Late last year, he took to socials with a heartfelt statement, citing a desire to try something new, as well as recent health issues bringing about plenty of reflection.

Rather than leave the world of music, however, he plans to pursue a new sound. We have yet to find out whether it’s still electronic or not. Along with this statement, Minnesota announced the final dates for the Out Of The Void: Part 2 tour, which is set to wrap up in San Francisco on April 27.

Before that final date, however, he has bid fans a farewell with his final release under the Minnesota name. This record took everyone by surprise as it not only came unannounced on Bicycle Day, but also shocked fans with its length.

The release came in the form of a 40-track album by the name Solid State Discoveries, and it also comes with extra surprises. The full album is available for streaming on Spotify and SoundCloud, with 12 bonus tracks on Bandcamp. After listening to every last little bit of Solid State Discoveries, we’ll be running through the Minnesota discography with nothing but love in our hearts as we say goodbye.

Get your fill of Solid State Discoveries on your preferred platform, and stay tuned for what’s next from Christian Bauhofer.
