AIRGLO Goes 'LIGHTS OUT' on Latest EP

As drum and bass continues to claw its way into the hearts of many in the scene, one Los Angeles-based artist has been making massive strides on his own come up – AIRGLO. Past releases from this budding artist have found a home on labels like Jungle Cakes, Gorilla Warfare, Play Me Records, and more, while his performances have been packed full of energy whether he’s gracing the stage at a club show or festival. This year has seen AIRGLO march forward on his warpath, and now he’s dropped off his latest EP, LIGHTS OUT.

LIGHTS OUT brings AIRGLO into the Bassrush Records family. While the four-track collection of tunes is filled to the brim with powerful drum and bass elements, he’s switched things up by layering in piano play for an added effect that will soothe your soul. As the title track begins to play, you’ll hear how this blend works so well together. The chilled atmosphere is spiked with energy at just the right time, letting you bounce along with it.

“BROKEN HEART” sees AIRGLO drop off a smooth roller of a tune taken to the next level by Josh Rubin, who provides the emotion-fueled vocals that will pang deep in your heart. This gem stems from AIRGLO’s desire to turn the dial down a notch and deviate from the style he typically produces. As for working with Josh Rubin, AIRGLO said, “I always admired Josh and wanted to collaborate with him; it took less than 15 minutes in the studio for us to bring this track to life.”

Soon after, you’ll find yourself dancing away once again when “RAGGAMUFFIN” kicks into full gear. This track has already seen plenty of love, with Sub Focus playing it during Rampage earlier this year, and after one listen, you’ll find out why. Its ethereal moments play in perfect contrast to the rudeboy vocals and spacey drops. And there wouldn’t be a better closing tune for this collection than “ADDICTED TO YOU,” as AIRGLO delivers an intoxicating blend of love-infused vocals and bright synths with gritty, in-your-face drum and bass drops.
