Heist Mode Unveils Sixth Compilation Filled with Hypnotic Techno Soundscapes

in New Releases

Declan James, Stephen Disario, Barbosa, BENZA, Dog on Acid, and more deliver a plethora of hard techno grooves on Heist Mode Vol. VI.

Heist Mode has been a driving force for techno in North America, as its founder, Barbosa, continues to seek out and support fresh talent from around the globe. Forward-thinking artists have graced the imprint with some fantastic releases over the past few years, with their annual compilations showcasing some of the best and brightest in the scene today. This holds true with the latest in the series, Heist Mode Vol. VI, which offers up a hearty helping of 27 tracks for listeners to immerse themselves in.

One glance at the tracklist for Heist Mode Vol. VI will reveal some familiar names who have been featured on the label in the past, such as Declan James, Vidrik, Dara Ashrafi, FREEMAN 713, Mikrotakt, and, of course, Barbosa. These artists have flexed their production might for their tunes on this compilation, with some of the immediate standouts being “Past Tense Signified” and “Eclipsing” in the first half of the collection, while Stephen Disario‘s “Spirits of the Amazon” arrives as a solid techno treat in the middle.

But as Barbosa looks to the future, some fresh faces from around the world deserve a mention as well. Calgary’s Angel Science helps introduce the compilation’s deeper, hypnotic grooves with “Salvador.” Tascamboy, who hails from Tbilisi, dropped in “Figure,” a dark, moody techno tune that offers a sense of eeriness throughout its runtime. Additionally, Madrid’s BENZA picks up the pace as he delivers a dose of tribal drums on “Killer Whale,” Amsterdam’s Ebass packs a punch on “Nemesia,” and if you want a more stripped-back soundscape to explore, then check out Stockholm-based producer Dog on Acid’s “Respect the come up.”
