Kasbo returns to Foreign Family Collective to announce his third studio album, The Learning Of Urgency, by releasing two new tracks sure to give you goosebumps.

Kasbo is no stranger to making music that stirs up deep emotion, telling stories through ethereal soundscapes that could move anyone to tears on the dancefloor. His debut album, Places We Don’t Know via Foreign Family Collective and Counter Records, marked the unfolding of a new chapter for the Swedish producer, earning widespread praise and leading him down a path of unwavering success. His second album, The Making of a Paracosm, garnered the same support and deep admiration. It offered an emotional outlet for many at the height of the pandemic.

Now, four years later, Kasbo is turning the page to an entirely new chapter with his third studio album set to be released this summer. The Learning Of Urgency tells an important story of the emotional turmoil that many artists know too well. With great success comes unrelenting pressure, instilling the need to constantly do more, achieve more, be more. This pressure led to a crossroads for Kasbo, and he could either slow down or drown in it.

My new album is inspired by the feeling of being submerged in water. Underwater, the world moves slowly, sounds fade, and there’s this feeling of stillness. To me, there was this direct relation to being on a stormy ocean surface, trying desperately to keep your head above water. Whereas the world beneath the surface represented this stillness where you allowed yourself to move at a slower pace and appreciate the beauty of things around you. And sure, as much as you need to move forward and build something in life, you also need to swim up to the surface and take that next breath. I think it’s important not to let that thought consume us and prevent us from appreciating those moments of tranquility underwater.

The Learning Of Urgency is about the art of slowing down and tending to one’s own mental and physical well-being. It’s about rising up from to the surface, stronger and more inspired than ever before. Kasbo returns to Foreign Family Collective with an entirely new outlook — and a fresh sound set to envelop this entire body of work.

Two new tracks give fans a glimpse into what is to come. “Atlantis,” featuring the soothing vocals of Shallou and BJOERN, reflects on the inner workings of Kasbo’s desires for the future floating over an all-around breathtaking production. “Drift” feels like a euphoric, progressive daydream that sends shivers down my spine and leaves me craving for more.

Based in Southern California, Jackie grew up with a profound love for all things dance music. She found a home in the festival scene and realized her dream of pursuing a career in music and event production at just fourteen. Over the years, she has worked in various facets of the industry, including writing for various media outlets, managing social media at Audio San Francisco, organizing local events with Burning Man, and working as artist transportation at festivals like Life Is Beautiful. She fell in love with Anjunadeep during her time at Audio, with progressive and deep house encapsulating her heart. However, her music taste spans far and wide, so you never know which side of the festival grounds you may find her at. When she's not bopping around a festival, you'll likely find her behind the decks as DJ JAKLŸN.
