Mindchatter Sheds Light on Modern Reality With His Latest EP

Brooke Nelson by Brooke Nelson

Mindchatter connects with listeners on a more personal level than ever on This Is A Reminder That You Are Not Behind Your Face — out now on Foreign Family Collective!

Mindchatter is no stranger to diving into stigmatized topics and making them a more comfortable conversation. His ability to provide music that normalizes the abnormal is one of the many reasons his success has skyrocketed. Not all heroes wear capes. Some create frequencies that make us feel more seen.

Mindchatter’s eccentric appeal is sought by so many that it comes as no surprise how over the years, he has graced major events like Lightning in a Bottle, Okeechobee, and Coachella. Along with his notable festival appearances, he’s joined the likes of beloved artists Polo & Pan and SG Lewis on the road as well as his own successful DREAM SOUP tour in 2022.

Fans have been buzzing ever since he dropped knowledge on Spiritual Puberty, and their dopamine levels spiked once the reveal of a new EP was on the horizon. Today, the wait is over. Mindchatter is back to share more thought-provoking lyrics on his latest adventure, This Is A Reminder That You Are Not Behind Your Face.

The metaphors start rolling in as “Dopamine Detox” sets the mood of the EP. This track provides the perfect reminder that we are all going through similar trials and inner monologue battles. Then, we get sassy with the help of Emmit Fenn on “Cash.” Let the bouncy house beat carry you alongside the catchy chorus as you catwalk to the register to pay for your latest outfit slay and say, “I got cash!“

Melodic, airy soundwaves wash over you as “Brain Pills” comes into focus. The humor of our current reality — one where we’re prescribed medicine by online doctors who have messier rooms than our own — is woven into this silly yet relatable and punchy tune. “Simple Economics” follows with hi-hats and Mindchatter’s melancholy vocals. Its lesson is the perfect reminder that if you give nothing, you can’t expect something in return.

We end this EP laying on our stomachs with our legs criss cross in the air, jotting in our journal like a love-sick puppy. We kick our feet to the dreamy, simplistic beat as we write down our deepest, darkest secrets, knowing full well that they might land us in the “Looney Bin” if they’re ever found.
