Anjunadeep’s James Grant whisks everyone away to the beaches of Goa for the debut of the label’s new mix compilation series, Movement.

As the father of Anjunadeep, James Grant has been at the forefront of the label’s growing legacy in the scene that has spanned nearly two decades. Not only has he helped shape the soundscapes that have appeared on the imprint while simultaneously managing Above & Beyond during this time, but he’s also come into his own as a DJ and producer.

James Grant’s sets, which often see him joined by Jody Wisternoff, have become legendary to many in the sprawling Anjunfamily, with each carefully curated track striking deep into the souls of attendees. And in 2024, he’s flexing his tastemaking ability even more with the launch of Anjunadeep’s new DJ mix compilation series, Movement.

Movement isn’t just a series where James Grant will throw together tracks haphazardly. Instead, it’s a place for him to show off the music that moves him the most, introduce new artists to the global community, and unearth some gems along the way.

For Movement Vol. 1, James Grant looked to a longtime source of inspiration for artists on Anjuna, Goa, as the place to record the mix. It was there, at Cola Beach, where he performed for two hours, guiding listeners through serene soundscapes that have just enough groove to get your feet moving. Curated tracks in this mix from the likes of Luttrell, Durante, Blake.08, Cubicolor, Parallel Voices, and Braxton give a nod to his Anjunadeep roots, but each second that ticks away is more gorgeous than the last.

Find your own inner peace by streaming Movement Vol. 1 on YouTube or your preferred platform, and follow James Grant for more to come in 2024.

Grant Gilmore’s authoritative voice as a media professional lends credibility not common to EDM journalism. As the founder of EDM Identity he has effectively raised the bar on coverage of the past decade’s biggest youth culture phenomenon. After ten years of working for nonprofit organization Pro Player Foundation, Gilmore launched EDM Identity as a media outlet offering accurate informative coverage of the rave scene and electronic music as a whole. Although they cover comprehensive topic matter, they have taken special care in interviewing the likes of Armin van Buuren, Adventure Club, Gorgon City, Lane 8 and Afrojack. In addition to household names, they have also highlighted unsung heroes of the industry through their ID Spotlight segment. Whether he’s covering it or not, you can expect to find Grant Gilmore attending the next big electronic music event. To find out what’s next on his itinerary, follow him via the social links below.
