From start to finish, the Deadbeats & Brownies Drum & Bass Compilation calls all junglists to the dancefloor.
Deadbeats label heads Zeds Dead set the compilation off with their collaboration “Back Bus” with drum and bass artist REAPER. It’s no surprise this trio rips it from the start, as REAPER has long now been a beacon of drum and bass Stateside. If there were any American drum and bass artist meant to lead the way, it should be him.
Following suit, Friction then calls on Poppy Baskcomb for “What I Need” to create an electrifying drum and bass banger buoyed by emotive vocals. This track is sure to go off on a proper sound system. Audioscribe then takes the wheel with “Flow,” cranking up the heat to get listeners jumping just in time for ShockOne‘s purely energetic “Don’t Think.” IMANU then slows things down with a drum and bass remix of his own track “It’s Our Destiny,” evoking euphoric chills as the drums kick in.
Blanke then unleashes his alter ego, AEON:MODE, along with L8NCY for “Touch.” This beautiful, lustful track leaves little to desire. Another American drum and bass pioneer, Kumarion, then comes together with Tzar for “See The Sky,” followed by Aktive‘s “Know By Now.” The compilation continues with Subsonic‘s “Feel Ur Touch,” into “Let It Drop” by SIREN, and then Bensley and DNMO‘s previously released “Interference.”
The package rounds out with fantastic tracks from Fitch and REYKO!, Ghost In Real Life, Synergy, and a drum and bass edit of STS9‘s “New Dawn, New Day.” The final track completes the compilation, perfectly encapsulating an air of nostalgia, inspiration, and an odd sensation that we’re exactly where we’re meant to be.
We hope listeners are as inspired as we are to carry that feeling forward, ready to embrace drum and bass amidst the revolution happening before our very eyes.
