Central California’s Lightning in a Bottle returns in 2024 with a lineup featuring acts like Skrillex, Labrinth, Tycho, M.I.A, and more!
For two decades now, Lightning in a Bottle has remained one of North America’s most renowned escapes for those seeking a paradise of different musical endeavors. Hosting a five-day retreat on Lake Buena Vista near Bakersfield, the festival will return in 2024 during May 22-27, Memorial Day Weekend. This year, LiB dropped one of their most anticipated lineups yet, with rumored acts now confirmed to take on the stages to welcome the summer.
What Lightning in a Bottle does best is provide a space where all types of music can come together, with different areas that each take you into another dimension. Headliners this year include massive names like Skrillex, Lane 8, and CloZee. There is also a star-studded list coming from across the pond, including James Blake, Nia Archives, M.I.A, a very special Skream dubstep set, and the return of Tipper. Other hot acts include the rising star ISOxo, Floating Points, Of The Trees, Bob Moses, and Qveen Herby.
Of course, LiB also is also known to bring in a hefty undercard of global rising stars who grace more than seven stages throughout the weekend (not including makeshift art car and renegade stages scattered throughout the grounds). Festival goers can dive into whatever genre they’re feeling, from electro-funk at the Lightning stage and live bands at the Grand Artique to liquid drum and bass at the Thunder stage, deep, wubby bass at the Stacks, or even melodic house at the Woogie. Attendees can also find hidden gems throughout the festival from stages like the Junkyard, or partake in life-changing talks at the Compass stage.
The sounds of goddard., Rohaan, Machinedrum, and dela Moon will deliver tunes for the drum and bass heads. Sets from Aluna, ANNA b2b Sama’ Abdulhadi, Miss Dre, and Adam Ten b2b Mita Gami will be found taking over the beloved Woogie stage. Other diverse acts — such as Elephant Heart, Ayla Nereo, Mura Masa, Maddy O’Neal, BrittanyFromEarlier, and Honey Dijon — are just the tip of the iceberg for what’s to come, promising to vibrate the souls of LiBers all weekend long. Stay tuned for more acts to be announced!
Tickets are now on sale to the general public, but we predict that they’ll sell out fairly quickly. Make sure to grab yours via the LiB website and check back for more updates. We’ll see you on the lake!
