The latest collaboration from Rezz and Subtronics, “Black Ice,” is officially out now across all platforms via HypnoVizion and Cyclops Recordings.
Take a quick trip back to 2022, and you’ll find Rezz and Subtronics teaming up for the first time to warp the minds of fans with the debut collaboration, “Puzzle Box.” Since then, both artists have experienced immense growth in the scene. Rezz has gone on to bolster the offerings on her HypnoVizion imprint while stunning her fervent fanbase with releases like IT’S NOT A PHASE and also performing with deadmau5 under the REZZMAU5 alias. On the flip side, Subtronics has carved out even more space for himself with the massive ANTIFRACTAL Tour while also joining John Summit for some Subjohnics action and dropping fiery releases of his own.
Rezz and Subtronics have already begun to roar in 2024, and they’ve decided to mark their first releases of the year with another collaboration to entice their fans, “Black Ice.” Recently heard when Subtronics joined John Summit at BMO Stadium, as well as at festivals surrounding New Year’s Eve, this track is filled to the brim with textured layers of psychoactive bass goodness that pair perfectly with its ominous atmosphere. It’s a marriage of dubstep and midtempo that will leave listeners breathless before the final seconds give way to a bass house-fueled turn.
Speaking about the release, Rezz said, “This is my second track with Subtronics. It’s always such a quick and easy process working with him. Our sounds oddly mesh together so flawlessly. Love the vibe on this one!” Here’s to hoping that these two find time to hit the studio again together in the future.
