Travel the World with ‘Best of the Birdfeed, Vol. 4’

Dirtybird’s Best of the Birdfeed, Vol. 4 has arrived, featuring talented artists like Good Neighbor, Abbud, Playground Graffiti, Ray Vingh, and more!

Last May, the third volume of Dirtybird Records‘ Best of the Birdfeed had the flock happily chirpin’ and flappin’ on the dancefloor, and today, they get their claws on a fresh volume! Today, Best Of The Birdfeed, Vol. 4 illuminates the studio skills of nine up-and-coming artists plucked from all over the planet.

The expedition kicks off right here in the USA with the peculiar soundscape of “Put The Sauce On” by LA-based BOSA. As the brainchild of Stephan Jacobs — known as a pioneer of West Coast bass music — his BOSA personality allows him to dig deep into his love for live percussion and dreamy melodics. His latest offering delivers this tenfold.

From here, ear-catching, outside-the-box artistry is the name of the game. Let’s keep it in the US for a minute and take a look at San Diego’s Good Neighbor, Chicago’s JYNX, and Miami’s TEGI. In respective order, “Bruh” sends listeners into a state of extreme intoxication with distorted vocals and wubby sound expressions, whereas the collaborative track, “Bailando,” spices up the dancefloor with culture.

Now, let’s head to Brazil, the home of Abbud, OinarK, and Back Groove. “Minimalism” and “Crazy Things” deliver a double dose of dysfunction, making it impossible to stay stagnant, and “Future” taps into a dystopian tomorrow, featuring an AI vocal clip and unnerving piano scales. These are all excellent choices if you’re looking to transform the dancefloor into a crazy carnival.

We have two more countries to visit, and then it’s time for you to smash play on Best of the Birdfeed, Vol. 4. First, let’s go Down Under to Melbourne, where Playground Graffiti is waiting with “Quick and Slow.” This track begins with a tone straight out of your most recent nightmare and then raises hairs with grating sound details set at a lumbering pace.

As you collect what’s left of your sanity, Andrea Giudice and Ray Vingh offer a one-way escape to the UK. “Lifestyle” delivers a fizzy soundscape that pops and bubbles alongside metallic percussion and an undeniable groove. On the other hand, “House Musick” gets down and dirty, featuring heavy vibrations and a masculine vocal clip that motivates listeners to get off their couch and into the club.

Maria first fell in love with electronic music in the early 2000's when she heard a little tune called "Satisfaction" by Benny Benassi. Since then she has dived headfirst into the scene and is wildly passionate about the trance, techno, and house genres. Festival's like EDC, Dreamstate, and Dirtybird Campout hold the key to her soul and dance music will always and forever be a major part of her life.
