Like Mike Goes Solo Under His HEREON Alias

Like Mike makes his debut as HEREON, a fresh music personality that you can get to know by pressing play on “Pulsating Energy”!

Like Mike is a name synonymous with Tomorrowland. He’s also the co-owner of Smash The House record label, one-half of the award-winning dance music duo alongside Dimitri Vegas, and one-third of 3 Are Legend with his production partner and Steve Aoki. While that’s all impressive in itself, this weekend, he threw another project into the mix, stepping out solo as HEREON.

The Belgium-based beat-maker flexes the dawning of his alias with the riveting melodic techno soundscape of “Pulsating Energy” in collaboration with Israeli duo Florentin and American musician and singer-songwriter Sam Martin. This also marks the first single to be exposed off of HEREON’s upcoming debut album. While that’s all the information for now, it would be wise to keep tightly in tune with his future endeavors, starting with pressing play on his latest release.

“Pulsating Energy” pops off with dramatic vocals that chop and echo straight out of the gate. HEREON then proceeds to build the atmosphere with buoyant synths leading to a bright high hat. But the bridge cultivates something extra special; The bassline drops out, leaving Sam Martin’s voice to mingle with heavenly horns. By the time the bassline returns, the little bit of light that twinkled on entry has been fully snuffed out.

With the melodic techno industry growing at a cheetah’s pace, it’s exciting to see dance music icons stepping over the threshold. And who can blame them? The genre is undeniably powerful and seductive, with the right amount of pep to keep the crowds flowing.
