Funktastic bass producer crawdad sniper is back with Globules, another excellent EP that features five fresh tracks.

Washington DC-based artist crawdad sniper has been making major strides throughout the sound system scene as of late. This summer, the rising bass artist showed off his skills for funky halftime beats on Got Gusto, which had absolutely zero skips. He also made crowds unable to sit still at festivals like Sound Haven, Submersion, and Elements, with more fans starting to recognize his unique moniker and sound along the way.

After crawdad sniper‘s busiest year yet, it’s safe to assume he’s going to have an even bigger one in 2024 as his popularity skyrockets. But he had one more release up his sleeve before closing out 2023, Globules, a collection of his most unique bass tunes yet.

Funky-bright patterns in crawdad sniper’s signature style take control on his latest self-release that offers five fresh tracks for fans to feast their ears on. And there’s no sitting still on a single one of them. The opening track, “Find Out,” kicks off the project with a lighthearted, groovy melody before falling into its infectious head-nodding beat to set the tone. The energy keeps rolling forward on “Globules of Gibralter” with its warbled bass and vocal stabs that keep you engaged.

It wouldn’t be a crawdad sniper project without some goofy samples thrown into the mix, like on “Quirk’d Up.” This wobbly, complex beat is reminiscent of the hit “Small Talk” from his previous EP but with a twist. A touch of eeriness arrives within the soundscape of “Oxford Goblin,” and “Galapaghost” makes for the perfect closer, with satisfying distortions in the right places and another addicting pattern that makes it impossible to listen just once.

Listen to Globules on Spotify or your preferred platform, and stay tuned for more from crawdad sniper by following him on social media.
