WHIPPED CREAM Breaks Silence With “Lost My Way” Single and Music Video

Formidable Canadian producer WHIPPED CREAM reveals her self-discovery journey and opens the doors to her heart with “Lost My Way.”

WHIPPED CREAM’s dedication to her craft is evident through her audiovisual evolution, with each new release more audacious and mold-breaking than the last. Her journey between projects shows massive growth as an artist. Each brings in a new era and expands on her sound while offering a striking sense of self through music videos. Her awe-inspiring ability to meld genres together flawlessly in ways that are both fresh and authentic has attracted collaborators such as Latto, Lil Keed, and Lil Xan.

WHIPPED CREAM started 2023 off strong with a March EP, Someone You Can Count On, that expanded on her vivid discography and filmography. The record traversed the emotional spectrum with radiant melodies and snappy bass as the vessel for its stories. The theme of self-discovery that started with her debut album, WHO IS WHIPPED CREAM?, has echoed across every following project since. Today’s single and music video, “Lost My Way” on Monstercat, is no different.

“Lost My Way” intrigues listeners with the bass music maven’s signature guttural, growling bass filling the atmosphere. An echoing melody ushers in WHIPPED CREAM’s enchanting voice and heartfelt words, making the release a full feature crediting her as a writer, vocalist, and producer.

Drums tickle the angelic resonances before opening the track into a cinematic universe carried by heavy-hitting kicks, snappy snares, and undulating synths. “Lost My Way” takes inspiration from Jersey club with its fast, bouncy beat and signature triple percussive pattern. It shows WHIPPED CREAM’s longstanding love for the innovation that happens when electronic music fuses with hip-hop.

WHIPPED CREAM has curated a visual component for each era of her music, immersing listeners in a world completely curated by her.

The producer and singer-songwriter’s previous era was often marked by her slicked-back bun and white suit. Throughout the “Lost My Way” music video, this outfit that once made WHIPPED CREAM look commanding and confident weighs her down, eventually becoming baggage. By the end, she sheds it and bares herself raw and exposed. This act represents the vulnerability in realizing you might have lost your way on your journey to self, and the renewed confidence that comes with that.

Losing the suit symbolizes embracing the unknown and embarking on a fresh start, while having the confidence to leave behind past experiences with a genuine belief in new opportunities. It entails placing trust in the universal forces to guide you towards what is truly beneficial, rather than clinging to what doesn’t align with your inner sense of purpose and well-being.
