Sinego has officially released the first part of his Alterego LP, featuring Cucu Diamantes, Tonina, Kermesse, and more!
Pack your bags and grab your passport because house music producer, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist Sinego is taking fans on a tour through Latin America. Well, figuratively speaking, at least. Through his expansive two-part album, Alterego, you’ll come face to face with the cultures of Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Peru, Chile, and Sinego’s beautiful birthplace of Colombia. The LP’s goal is to lift up underrepresented styles in the vast expanse of dance music.
Alterego is broken up into two parts, El Día and La Noche. The full release will be accompanied by a documentary that gives us an in-depth look at the project’s creation as Sinego explores the countryside. While we wait for that, the first 12 tracks are available for your listening pleasure right now. Fans may immediately recognize “Labios” as this was the offering that set the vibe for the full package. It’s a nod to Ecuadorian Boleros and the iconic Julio Jaramillo, featuring a sensual guitar performance that stands out among its lighthearted vocals, piano, and rhythm.
Traveling along, we’re greeted by amazing artists like Angélica Garcia. While Angélica calls the USA her home, her mother, of Mexican and Salvadoran descent, has had a massive impact on her artistry. Even former president Barack Obama has sung her praises, selecting “Jícama” for his 2019 year-end playlist. On Alterego, Angélica Garcia places her magic touch on the feel-good track, “Quema” — and French Braids, the alias of electronic musician and producer Sean Fischer, tosses in a soulful twist.
Speaking of impactful artists, GRAMMY-nominated Cuban vocalist Cucu Diamantes is present and accounted for. She spices up the already red-hot atmosphere of “Tropicana” alongside the Cuban sister duo PAUZA. The independent scene comes through with some serious heat as well. Chilean pop-rock singer-songwriter Fernando Milagros joins Sinego on “Espiral,” showing off his sexy Santiago style.
Another standout selection is “Sol” featuring the sweet sounds of Pahua, also known as Mexican singer, songwriter, producer, and DJ Pau Sotomayor. This track will sweep you off your feet into a peaceful daydream, sending the chaos of the world further away than a distant memory. “Ilusión” has a similar effect. At its core, it’s dark and mysterious yet immaculately festive and bright at the same time. It’s the kind of track that makes you want to get down and dirty on the dancefloor as the intoxicating, late-night hours take their toll on the psyche.
As you take the reins to explore the rest of the album, keep in mind that Sinego may be coming to a city near you! He’s about to take off on his Alterego Tour, which kicks off in Los Angeles on November 3 at Flat Factory Studios. From there, he’ll make a stop at Camino Riviera in San Diego on November 5, before heading back to LA on November 6 to party at School Night. If you live on the other side of the country, he’s got you covered on December 1 at House Of Yes in NYC. Head to his socials to check out the complete list of tour dates.
