Wraz returns to the Deep, Dark, and Dangerous imprint with his latest 5-track EP, Akuma, and it’s perfectly fit for the season.

Wraz has been stacking up releases this year in between appearances at shows and festivals from Shambhala to Sound Haven and plenty more. From his collaboration mini-compilation series, Wraz and Friends, and countless other self-releases in 2023 to appearances on Artikal Music and Duploc‘s BLXCK TXPES, he’s certainly been busy at work in the studio lately.

While he’s finding success all over the scene nowadays, Wraz mentioned in a recent interview that his big break into the dubstep scene was largely owed to the support he gained through TRUTH‘s Deep, Dark, & Dangerous collective. This week, he returned to the label once again as a veteran of the imprint with his latest project, the five-track Akuma EP, to take listeners on yet another journey through dark 140 beats.

From the spooky album art on Akuma to a glance at the tracklist with names like “Banshee,” “Swarm,” and “Doomed,” it’s clear that Wraz had sinister sounds in mind when producing his latest offering. And after taking a listen, they’re perfect for the Halloween festivities ahead.

The title track dropped ahead of the full project and received a premiere with UKF this week, making for Wraz’s debut appearance with the beloved brand. “Akuma” is also the only tune out of the five that sees him slow things down a bit for an even darker, more ominous pace than the rest. As for the other tracks, each one offers a unique blend of gritty elements that add to the overall eerie nature of the release, with “Doomed” standing tall as the finishing blow with its oscillating synths and screams that stab in throughout its runtime.

The Akuma EP is out now, so be sure to run to Spotify or your preferred platform to discover some new beats to add to your spooky season playlist.
