Known for amazing lineups, the best food and drink, and Grass Lands, Outside Lands celebrates 15 years with even more to experience!
It’s August in San Francisco which means Outside Lands is just around the corner! Next weekend from August 11-13, music lovers will descend on the beautiful Golden Gate Park for three days of music, food, drink, and endless things to explore on the festival grounds. As always this year boasts a diverse and stacked lineup of artists featuring headliners Foo Fighters, Kendrick Lamar, and ODESZA, who will be the first electronic music act to headline the Lands End main stage. Joining them are a wide array of stars from rap to indie, and house to bass.
Also returning this year is the beloved SOMA Tent. Debuted in 2021, the SOMA Tent brings the underground and club vibes into the heart of the festival with non-stop house music. There really is something for everyone. Brand new this year is Dolores, an open air dance club celebrating the queer and trans communities, spaces, and activism that are key to San Francisco’s culture. Everyone is welcome at Dolores and can enjoy DJs, drag performers, and other artists throughout the weekend, as hosted by local nightlife icons FAKE and GAY, OASIS, and Hard French.
Anyone who has attended Outside Lands knows there’s so much more beyond the music that makes the festival special. San Francisco is a food destination and Taste of Bay The Area brings some of the best restaurants to Outside Lands. With over 95 vendors, this is a foodie’s dream, and planning out which to try is almost as important as adding artists to your schedule! Other staples are Wine Lands featuring sips from over 35 Northern California wineries, and Beer Lands which showcases breweries and cideries from all across California. Back better than ever this year is Cocktail Magic where you can enjoy craft cocktails in fun, themed bar spaces. And though Gastromagic seems to be missing this year, programming will be held at Cocktail magic throughout the weekend!
The food and drink fun doesn’t stop there as many sponsors will have fun activations and experiences throughout the festival grounds. Stop by Don Julio’s booth for tequila tastings and a photo on the iconic 1942 truck, say “cheers” in the Aperol Spritz Piazza, treat yourself to Baileys Iced Coffee or Matcha at the Treat Bar by Bailey’s, or catch Golden Hour at CASA BACARDÍ. These are only a few of the sponsors who will be onsite with cocktails and photo ops that you won’t want to miss!
Outside Lands was the first major American festival to offer a cannabis marketplace on-site, and Grass Lands returns for the fifth year. Shop from local vendors, enjoy your wares within the Grass Lands space, and catch some DJ sets while you’re there! Unique food vendors will also be serving some comfort foods, waffles, and coffee from a local SF cafe.
Want to get your shop on beyond just merch? Wander through the Outside Lands Marketplace featuring Bay Area artisans and makers will have unique clothing, ceramics, jewelry, home decor and more for sale. This is one of our favorite spots to take a break and peruse some cool items! You can also purchase limited edition Outside Lands earplugs from Eargasm on-site, because protecting your hearing is priority number one.
It’s almost impossible to encapsulate all of the experiences and activations that Outside Lands has to offer. We encourage you to take time to explore the grounds and take everything in. Take a stroll by the Outsider Art area and see live paintings, take part in sustainability at the festival with initiative like the brand new reusable cups this year, tie dye a bucket hat at the Toyota activation, or donate to various nonprofit organizations through The Mission. Whatever you chose to do or stumble upon by chance, Outside Lands is a one-of-a-kind festival, and we can’t wait to be back next week!
