Skellytn Drops Off Five-Track ‘Megacorporation’ EP

Los Angeles-based drum and bass artist Skellytn takes her talents to Bassrush Records for the release of her latest EP, Megacorporation.

Skellytn might be one of the newest names in the drum and bass scene, but this LA-based artist is already beginning to turn heads with her impressive neurofunk-infused productions and cyberpunk aesthetic. Not only did she release Neurocomputer on Reid Speed’s Play Me Records in 2022, but she’s also graced labels including Space Yacht and Bassrush along the way. The latter of those two imprints is where Skellytn has landed her latest EP, Megacorporation, which features five fresh tunes for her growing fanbase to consume ahead of her forthcoming festival appearances this fall.

Megacorporation pays homage to Skellytn’s cyberpunk roots as she dives deeper into the dystopian future with a flurry of tracks that offer everything from spine-tingling sounds to blistering barrages of bass that will leave listeners breathless. The lead track, “Fracture,” opens this trip into the underworld with eerie elements that give way to an onslaught of gritty basses and morphed sounds at a rapid pace. Ominous thematic elements found in this track also find a home on the other solo single, “Villain,” which packs its own unreal punch midway through the release.

Three collaborative tracks on Megacorporation highlight Skellytn’s ability to play nice with other artists. BZRKR joins in on the fun for “Fire Across the Sky,” a track featuring distorted horns, hard-hitting percussion, and vocals that sink their teeth into your soul at the right moment. “Dance With The Devil” is another stunner as Skellytn opens the doors to another ominous soundscape as its synths and warped bass are accented by UNDY’s sultry vocals that wrap around the mind. The closing track, “Control,” brings Honey-B-Sweet into the mix with some rapped bars that pair perfectly with the track’s mesmerizing melody, not to mention its destructive bassline that will surely have your speakers shaking.

The creative synergy between my music and the vision of Bassrush has allowed the ‘Megacorporation’ EP to flourish, transcending expectations and embodying its truest essence. I extend my heartfelt thanks to Bassrush for their trust, guidance, and belief in my artistry. Together, we have created something extraordinary, and I am excited to share the EP with the world, knowing that it embodies the culmination of our shared passion and dedication to pushing the boundaries of electronic music.
