Ukrainian producer Tim Walche returns to Lane 8’s This Never Happened with his debut solo release on the imprint, Opia / Acidalia Planitia.
Tim Walche might be a new artist on the scene to many, but the story of this Kyiv-based producer spans over a decade. During this time, he’s not only created his own music but also taken on mixing and mastering duties for other producers worldwide. Last year, Tim Walche made his true debut on Lane 8’s This Never Happened imprint with the release of “Mess Of Mind” and “Orbit” on Root To Branch Vol. 8, both of which were absolute stunners. Now, he’s returned to the label with his latest sonic offering Opia / Acidalia Planitia.
Riding the wave of Aphrodite Terra, which landed on Eklektisch in April, Tim Walche’s new two-tracker is a release that will sweep you away into a different state of mind. “Opia” opens the journey with organic percussion and claps to paint the soundscape before he layers in gorgeous synths to add even more vibrancy to the ride. The powerful drop that arrives in the second half will give your feet plenty of energy to make their moves on the dancefloor, but you can sit back and simply vibe out to this track if you so desire.
The second tune, “Acidalia Planitia,” is another helping of tasty melodic goodness as Tim Walche leans more heavily into his indie influences. Plenty of depth can be explored as the seconds tick away on this tune, but what stands out most is the emotionally-stirring cinematic buildup that crescendos into a drop that gives you a release that is sure to cleanse your soul.
