Tape B just dropped his debut EP on Deadbeats, Over Saturated, which includes a track under his house-driven alias Tech B.

Over the past year, Tape B has taken the bass music community by storm. Bridging the gap between old-school and new-school dubstep, he has grown rapidly in popularity. His fearlessness in pushing boundaries shines through effortlessly in his music production, and he can be found on nearly every major bass music festival lineup this summer, including bucket list fest Electric Forest. It goes without saying his sets are always filled with energy, and his stage presence is addictive.

Last year Tape B dropped A Dose of Nostalgia, which brought listeners back to the golden era of 2010 dubstep and his infectious energy has landed him releases on labels such as WAKAAN, Subsidia, and more recently, Circus Records. Deadbeats has also become a home for him, with his track “Melodic Blue” on We Are Deadbeats Vol. 5, while he also collaborated with HEYZ on “I’m In Deep” earlier this year. Now, he’s returned with Over Saturated, his debut EP on Zeds Dead’s imprint.

“Let Me Go” kicks off the four-track release in true Tape B fashion as he incorporates edgy vocals with hints of melodic melodies. It’s the perfect track for anyone looking to get over their ex. Then, Tape B seamlessly leads listeners into the title track, “Over Saturated,” which is packed with energetic kicks paired with more edgy vocals. The entirety of this tune’s runtime is unpredictable, packed with syncopated rhythms and wobbly effects.

Piano instrumentals open up the third track, “Another Night Alone,” as Tape B gives everyone a different take on loneliness. With a blend of reggae influence and dark soundscapes, this grimy tune makes nights alone seem a little less dreadful. Last but certainly not least, Tape B debuts his Tech B side with “Voices” to end the EP with a unique, house-fueled twist. It’s a solid track to put on all summer long and is sure to leave fans yearning for more from this new alias.
