Wenzday teams up with Tyler Graves for her latest single, “Like That,” which doubles as the first taste of her forthcoming EP on IN / ROTATION.
Los Angeles-based DJ and producer Wenzday has been on quite the ride over the past few years. Not only has she landed releases on labels, including the likes of House Call, hau5trap, HARD Recs, and Deadbeats, but she’s also taken the stage at some of the biggest festivals on the planet. On top of all that, Wenzday has continued to showcase the sounds of others on 40oz Cult, the label she runs with her brother, Dack Janiels.
This year has already seen Wenzday carve out even more space for herself in the scene with a number of standout tracks such as “Let’s Talk” with N2N, “Handle With Care,” and “B,T,H,D, (Bring The House Down).” She’s also graced the Hangout Fest and Phoenix Lights decks to showcase her dynamic mixing abilities. But today, her focus has been reset on what’s to come later this summer – her sophomore EP on IN / ROTATION, Heartbreakers Club.
The new EP will act as a proper follow-up to 2019’s Heartbreak House EP that helped catapult Wenzday to the forefront of the scene and into the hearts of a seemingly ever-growing fanbase. While much of the release is still shrouded in mystery, a glimpse of what’s to come arrived today with the release of the EP’s lead single, “Like That,” which sees her team up with another talented artist, Tyler Graves, who she had connected with a few years ago after remixing Bijou’s “Crown.”
Since [meeting Tyler Graves], I knew I wanted to feature her on a track of my own. After sending her the instrumental, it was an instant click. So, we hopped in the studio, and she wrote/tracked the record all in less than eight hours. I’m so excited that it’s the first single off the EP because I think this song embodies the new sound I have been leaning into while maintaining the themes of empowerment and girl power I have been cultivating over the years.Wenzday
