Sunny Lax Finally Unveils Debut Album on Anjunabeats

Anjunabeats mainstay Sunny Lax delivers his debut album, Crystals, on the imprint nearly two decades after first gracing their roster.

Hungarian DJ and producer Sunny Lax is an artist who has become renowned for bringing sensational sounds in the trance and progressive house realm to the masses. Beginning his exploration of electronic music at the age of 13, he grew his skills as a producer and gained confidence along the way, inevitably leading to his single “PUMA,” catching the ear of iconic trio Above & Beyond in 2005. They signed Sunny Lax to Anjunabeats the following year and released his first EP on the imprint soon after, and he’s become a key figure in the growing Anjunafamily ever since.

As the years passed, Sunny Lax only further solidified his place among the ranks of Anjunabeats artists. Not only did he drop anthemic singles and EPs, but he also helped lead the charge on their compilations and became a frequent face on their curated lineups as the label trotted the globe. But one thing was missing from Sunny Lax’s legacy, a full-length album, and now, he’s checked that box with the release of Crystals.

Crystals is out now across all platforms and sees Sunny Lax pair tracks from his recent EPs on the label – Emerald, Ruby, and Amethyst – with five new ones that will surely delight any member of the Anjunafamily. “Emerald,” “Dance With Me,” and “Archons” showed off the trance soundscapes that would be present on this album, while others, like “The Light,” “Ayahuasca,” and his two tracks with Kyss, “Jannada” and “Harayn,” explored deeper progressive realms.

One of the new tracks, “We,” kicks off the journey for listeners on Crystals as glittering elements consistently build into a very subtle drop, allowing for you to reset your brain and let this sonic trip commence. Another fresh gem, “You’re Not Alone,” arrives as the seventh track as Sunny Lax delivers a spacey soundscape filled with progressive elements that are uplifting at their core. Progressive house dominates the final three tracks on Crystals as well, with “Share Your Love” offering a groovy ride you can’t help but dance to, “Cerasus” transporting you back to the cosmos with its larger-than-life, cinematic nature, and “Lionheart” acting as a chilled outro that will leave you feeling refreshed.
