Zeds Dead and HNTR Team Up for “Aftertaste”

Canadians Zeds Dead, HNTR, and AIDN join forces for “Aftertaste,” a fresh release on Altered States that’s dripping with techno vibes.

Legendary duo Zeds Dead might be a duo that’s been at the forefront of the dubstep scene in North America for well over a decade, but that doesn’t mean they haven’t dabbled in other genres along the way. Past releases flirted with house, drum and bass, and downtempo, and the recent launch of Deadbeats‘ sister imprint that goes beyond the bass realm, Altered States, has only made their passion for other styles even more clear. Launched in 2021, Zeds Dead were the first artists to grace the label, but they hadn’t returned with fresh tracks in tow… until now.

Nearly two years after Altered States was birthed, Zeds Dead have made their way back to the label with “Aftertaste,” a collaborative track that sees them team up with fellow Canadians HNTR and AIDN. Those who have followed the underground scene lately should be familiar with HNTR, who released a handful of tracks on Altered States along with others on imprints such as mau5trap, No Neon, and Factory 93 Records. This JUNO Award Winner’s unique blend of techno, tech house, and progressive have made his soundscapes stand tall – and it pairs so perfectly with the production prowess of Zeds Dead.

“Aftertaste” is a powerful track that commands your attention from the jump. Its intro puts AIDN’s vocals front and center to hypnotize you as you’re guided into this dark, melodic techno-infused realm that’s filled to the brim with eerie elements that will leave your skin crawling. From the powerful kicks and booming synths to the modulated vocals and distant piano notes, there’s so much to explore in this energetic tune that’s perfect for the peak hours at any nightclub, so make sure to give it a spin because you won’t regret it.

Listen to “Aftertaste” on Spotify or your preferred platform, and stay tuned for more from Zeds Dead and HNTR by following them on social media.
