Skrillex just dropped Don’t Get Too Close in the middle of his performance at Madison Square Garden with Fred again.. and Four Tet.

This week has been surreal for fans of Skrillex. Not only did he tease the tracks off Quest For Fire just a week before the album dropped during his Basement Stream, but he then trotted seemingly all over New York City to perform multiple pop-up events with Fred again.. and Four Tet. This included a show on Valentine’s Day at Good Room, another at Le Poisson Rouge two days later, and a special show in the middle of Times Square for The Lot Radio.

Tonight capped off this run of shows with a performance at the iconic Madison Square Garden, but in the midst of everyone catching the show, there was one more surprise in store from Skrillex – the release of his second album Don’t Get Too Close. Arriving a mere day after the release of Quest For Fire, this 12-track pop-centric album offers up another hearty helping of tunes for everyone to bask in all weekend long.

Found in the tracklist are a number of singles that arrived earlier this year including “Way Back” with Pink Pantheress and Trippie Red, “Real Spring” with Bladee, and “Don’t Get Too Close” with Bibi Bourelly, along with other singles such as “Don’t Go” with Justin Bieber and Don Toliver, which landed in 2022. But there’s so much more to explore on Don’t Get Too Close.

Some of the immediate standouts include “Summertime,” which sees Skrillex team up with Kid Cudi, as well as “Mixed Signals” which features Swae Lee. Others that shouldn’t be missed include the dancefloor-centric “Selecta” with BEAM, “Ceremony” with Yung Lean and Bladee, and Bibi Bourelly’s second appearance on the album that brings it to a close, “Painting Rainbows.
