Wintersix Whips Up a Winter Mix That Will Soothe Your Soul

Australian DJ and producer Wintersix will sweep you off your feet and whisk you away to a progressive state of mind with his latest mix.

The next wave of artists crafting surreal soundscapes in the progressive house realm are helping show that the future is bright for the genre, and Wintersix is one who you should be keeping an ear tuned to. This Melbourne-based DJ and producer caught the attention of many in this melodic space when he dropped a flurry of releases on his imprint, Frostyland Recordings, in 2020 that included the Stay Frosty and L O S T EPs.

While 2022 was relatively quiet for Wintersix with the release of electro house tune “Umbra” on TMRW Music, he’s already set off on a massive year in 2023. Kicking things off with a bang was his newest single, “Rain,” which saw him team up with Alisky for another progressive house heater that found a home on mau5trap’s We Are Friends Vol. 11. More recently, he delivered a refreshing remix of Swaré’s “Storm” to breathe new life into the single and make it even more stunning with sweeping melodies and the right amount of dancefloor-energy.

Few artists capture the essence of the winter season quite like Wintersix does, making him a perfect fit for the Winter Waveforms mix series. For the mix, the Aussie curates tracks from the likes of Kx5, Tinlicker, Sysdemes, Julian Gray, EDDIE, Vintage Culture, KREAM, and more, while also layering in some of his own tunes and an ID as well.
