ROSSY Walks You Through ‘HEAVENS DOOR’ on Debut EP

Brooke Nelson by Brooke Nelson

in Album Review

Rising bass phenom ROSSY delivers angelic energy on her debut six-track EP, HEAVENS DOOR, out now on HARD Recs.

There’s an artist on the rise, bringing her unique, badass sparkle everywhere she goes, and her name is ROSSY. This bass queen has perfected her hand in creating crave-worthy tracks that flirt with future bass, trap, as well as classical components. ROSSY’s bubbly stage presence and a USB full of certified heat have fans in the palm of her hand, and they don’t plan on making moves anytime soon.

ROSSY continually proves she is a queen of her craft, and tracks “Heaven” and “Hysteria” are a few examples of the magic she can produce. With festivals like HARD Summer and HiJinks behind her, she entered 2023, ready to show the world that she means business. She happily announced her debut tour at the beginning of February, and today, her debut EP that inspired the tour, HEAVENS DOOR, has finally arrived.

I wanted to wait to make an EP until it felt like I could fully give the world the realest representation of myself, a true piece of me. I wanted to make sure it was so special for all of the lovely people who take their time to support and stream me. I wanted everything from the music, the art, the rollout, and the branding to feel so special and so true to me.

Press play and walk through HEAVENS DOOR to float among the clouds.

Setting the scene, “ANTHEM“ brings high energy and lays out the red carpet because the trap queen ROSSY is here to take her throne. Showcasing her famous sound as the marriage between melodic and heavy drops, this track will have listeners on the edge of their seats for more. Next, she collaborates with Jazz Cartier to create “KARMA,” an ethereal trap wonderland. Cartier inspires realness with vocals that are overflowing with passion and pair well with the wavy highs and lows.

“DON’T SAY” greets us with ROSSY’s own vocals, which sound like they came from the mouth of a pixel-perfect angel. You can feel the heartbreak and affection behind every note, connecting your heart even closer to hers by the end of the song. Once you’ve wiped your tears from the beauty you just felt, “DEITY” comes in to turn the energy full blast. Try to resist the urge to move your body as this punchy beat has you soaring out of Earth’s atmosphere.

Keeping the speed full throttle, “LYRA” will have you feeling like an aerialist on your very own Lyra as you spin along to the energetic soundscapes. Here to lower your pulse with the help of Pauline Herr, “HEAVENS DOOR” brings this EP to an end. As the intro builds, honey-like words flow into the air, lifting you up to new heights, and you feel caressed by the angelic auras released as each second passes.

By the end of ROSSY’s HEAVENS DOOR, you feel replenished, uplifted, and full of inspirational energy. From her true form of trap queen to the more melodic side, this goddess of sound laid out a spread of her talent. Explore the interworkings of ROSSY’s beautiful mind on her latest body of work, and keep an eye out to see if she will be making a stop near you on her first headlining tour!
