After the release of “Waiting For You,” Chasner swung by to chat about the tune and his upcoming debut at Ultra Music Festival in Miami.
The Netherlands has fostered countless artists over the years who have laid claim to the electronic music throne, and Chasner is one of the latest to make some major moves toward the top. This Dutch artist’s journey in the dance music scene began when he was 12 after finding inspiration from the likes of Afrojack, Avicii, Martin Garrix, and more. Flash forward to 2016 and Chasner wasn’t just finding inspiration from artists like this, but leaving them impressed as well with his bootleg remix of Afrojack’s “Rock The House” – which led to WALL Recordings signing him soon after.
The past few years have seen Chasner continue to flex his production capabilities with releases including “Live For The Night,” “Bounce Rave,” “Real” with FRNKROK. He’s also collaborated with Afrojack on a number of tracks that include notable singles “Return of the Mack” with Rob Adans, “Own Game,” and “Starts Right Now.” And to start 2023 off on the right foot he looked to a fresh face in the scene, EMAD, to bring “Waiting For You” to life on MDLBEAST Records that’s another dancefloor smasher.
Releases aren’t the only impressive aspect about Chasner as his performances have also left crowds stunned everywhere from his home country to the US, and even Asia, he’s quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with in the scene. This year will see him continue on his path of domination with his upcoming debut at Ultra Miami, where he’ll play the Jacked Stage at the festival – so make sure to catch him there!
Looking to gain some added insight into Chasner’s recent successes and upcoming festival performances, we caught up with him for a chat. Listen to his recent single with EMAD, “Waiting For You” on Spotify or your preferred platform, and read on for the full conversation.

Hi Chasner. Thanks for taking the time to chat with us today. Last year saw you drop tracks like “Bounce Rave” and “Starts Right Now” with Afrojack, and you’re already getting into the swing of things with your latest release, “Waiting For You” with Emad. What was the production process behind this tune?
Thanks for having me! Yeah, 2022 was the year when I finally released a lot of new Chasner music. “Starts Right Now” together with Nick was the new musical start for Chasner. Performing the track at Tomorrowland last summer together gave me so much inspiration for new festival music. As for “Waiting For You,” Emad and I sat down in the studio and just started going back and forth with ideas. He had an idea for the vibe of the drop; I came up with the melody and just kept working on it until it was finished.
Emad is a fairly new artist in the scene. Can you share the story behind how the two of you came together to bring this release on MDLBEATS Records to life?
So if I remember correctly, last summer, Nick introduced me to Emad, and at one point, we were checking each other’s music, we vibed, and just started working on something completely new, which became “Waiting For You.”
While you’ve released tunes on other labels in the past, your biggest home has been on Wall Recordings. Can you share what the support from this label, and Afrojack, has meant to you as an artist?
[Laughs] There have been some releases already, right? You know, I feel very blessed to be able to grow my career as an artist with the support and mentorship of Nick and my team (Wall and their management). Ten years ago, I could only dream of collaborating on songs with people like Afrojack, and releasing my tracks on labels like Wall, Spinnin, and Universal – and now, it’s a reality. Yeah, to say that out loud still feels weird sometimes. So, I’m very thankful for their support. Thankful for everyone’s support out there!
We heard through the grapevine that you have another release due this month. Is there any insight into this that you can share with us today?
[Laughs] I can share that I performed this track already 6,000km across the globe a few months ago, and it went off!
Looking back on your career so far, what would you say has been the biggest piece of advice you’ve been given that has helped you take your career to the next level?
Good one. As cheesy as it sounds – but what especially helped me get through the first years as a producer: Just don’t give up and really believe in yourself – because if you don’t believe in yourself, why would anyone else?
Not getting replies as an artist, or demos getting rejected, can be demotivating for many producers and musicians. And sadly enough, I saw many friends quit chasing their passion because of this. So my advice is to use this “rejection’’ as fuel to become better, to make them want to reply to your emails, and don’t stop until you succeed in your goals because better times will come, as long as you believe in it and keep working very hard for it!
Moving back to the present, you’re gearing up for a massive run of shows in March that includes your debut at Ultra Miami. How have you prepared yourself for these sets that are taking place in vastly different climates?
I’m so f**ng excited for March. Playing for the very first time at Ultra Miami that’s a big dream come true. Also, Tomorrowland Winter and some other cool trips are very exciting. How did I prepare? [Laughs] I kinda locked myself up in the studio for the past year. For these sets, I’ve been (and still am) making a lot of new Chasner music, special edits, and more.
Your set on the Jacked Stage at Ultra Miami will also mark your debut at the festival. What kind of emotions ran through you when you found out you’d be playing? Do you have anything special planned for this set?
When I heard I was playing Ultra Miami, I freaked out (in a good way). Feeling so insanely happy and overwhelmed. [Laughs] I literally couldn’t control the adrenaline I felt during that moment, so I just started walking back and forth, not believing I was really playing there.
So yeah, I’m making this a very special set filled with lots of new exclusive music, edits, and more!
Finally, with most of the year still ahead of you, what goals do you hope to achieve in the rest of 2023?
This year I’m planning to release a lot of new club and festival music. Pushing boundaries in 2023 with my Chasner sound in different genres. I just want to spread good vibes and energy through my music, to crush all the dance floors and festivals worldwide. Playing more shows across the globe, making thousands of people go wild and have the best time of their lives. Just push the “Chasner’’ sound worldwide live/on radio and Spotify again. Also this year I’m planning to release some special songs. One very special collaboration is coming that I’ve been working on for years already. I’m so, very excited for 2023.
