Beatport has been bringing upcoming artists to the surface with their project Beatport Next and is back again for its third edition. For the last two years, the program has created noticeable changes in numbers for the lucky selects. In 2021, the project came to life with the intention to broadcast and support rising artists that check all of their boxes, and the results made clear the benefits of Beatport on your side.
Last year, Beatport Next included eight artists – 8KAYS, AMÉMÉ, Emily Nash, Jaden Thompson, Mariana Trench, Nia Archives, Nikki Nair, and Risa Taniguchi – who not only had a whopping 353% increase in Beatport store revenue they also received a 213% increase in Beatport followers. Today, after long consideration of all the amazing artists that flooded their inboxes for the latest iteration of the series, Beatport has officially announced the artists for 2023.
The anticipation is over, and the Beatport Next Class of 2023 features another eight talented artists from regions around the world – ANNĒ, Closet Yi, Coco & Breezy, Confidential Recipe, HoneyLuv, Junior Simba, Lens, and Mala Ika. The newest additions shine in a wide array of several realms of the musical spectrum, making them the perfect candidates to uphold the program’s mission.
From fierce international sounds to crowd-pumping techno, the combination of these artists reaches new frequencies that deserve attention. Coco & Breezy bring their Afro-Latina women DJs and producers by paying homage to the classics, while HoneyLuv infuses hip-hop, R&B, and more for a refreshing take on house and techno. Lens is a UK-based artist who has come into her own in the drum and bass scene over the past few years, and Confidential Recipe throws down a hearty helping of hard techno from his home base of Colombia.
