Ahl Iver Offers a Heavy Dose of Techno on the ‘Paradox’ EP

Ahl Iver allows you to enter a hypnotic state of mind with the release of his four-track Paradox EP on Amelie Lens’ Lenske Records.

Techno creates an undivided rhythm while keeping its history alive with fresh artists who have found a passion for the genre. One of the latest to arrive in the scene comes from a Belgian artist Ahl Iver, who has become renowned for delivering soundscapes that can shift the mindset of how a specific genre is experienced. He is catching fire in the scene and turned the head of Amelie Lens, who showcased his talents in 2019 by spinning one of his demo submissions. Now, the rising star is continuing to dominate the underground scene to satisfy cravings for acid techno lovers with the Paradox EP on Lenske Records.

The Paradox EP offers immediate awareness with acid-heavy-hitting layers of vicious kicks, alternating hi-hats with a cadence that adds friction to the mind, which works through any negative thought patterns with a “Reverse Psychology” mentality. Then, as the lead track progresses, sharp oscillating sirens create a step-like sequence to focus from one moment to the next, finding peace through the air disturbance before the tune abruptly ends for added stillness to the chaos.

As ravers shuffle onto the dancefloor, the title track enters the fray and opens up with a sustained melodic note that carries an open depth to the space within the environment when listening. When listeners begin to focus their eyes around the floor, a flood of soft panning lights illuminates the faces of the people enjoying the night as brassy wavelengths of frequency wash over the crowd. Ahl Iver’s signature protruding chord stabs leave fans sinking into the vibrations of slow, repetitive male vocals that beckon the individual more profoundly into a hypnotic state.

Jolting listeners back into their bodies is “Rumble of the Jungle” which stimulates an uproar of energy to kickstart a burning vigor of enthusiasm for the present moment with randomized elements zapping color through the air in a vibrant laser frenzy. Finishing off the release and the underground party is “No Salvation,” which guides listeners into an ominous yet melodic soundscape for an empowering venture to change the narrative within fans’ bodies and minds as the night fades. The final track stands tall with its complexity and will help inspire an inner journey for the fans that listen to work through thoughts with a positive mindset.

Ashley Littlefield

Ashley is a passionate artist from Orange County that loves to escape into Los Angeles to dance any chance she can. Ashley's flair for music started at the young age of six when she received her first Casio keyboard to start her self-discovery through the sound. In High School, she began to learn guitar, write songs, and attended many shows to discover new genres. Her first memory of electronic music is attributed to her parents during a road trip, where her father played Moby in the car. Music helped her grow personally and professionally while studying to earn her Bachelor's of Fine Art degrees in Creative Photography and Illustration at California State University of Fullerton. Jamie xx, Tycho, Ratatat, and Above and Beyond are some of her favorite artists. You can find her in the crowd, grooving, and sharing genuine smiles wherever she goes.
