Artichokes Are Yellow hits the one-year mark with Peaches – a sweet house treat by Not Not, best enjoyed with friends on the dancefloor!
Blossoming house label Artichokes Are Yellow is celebrating its one-year anniversary, and what better way to get the party pumping than to circle back to who it started with? San Diego’s Not Not was the producer that they trusted with their launch, and rightfully so because Coconuts had the world going nuts for its silly party vibes. One year later, he sticks to the fruity theme and serves up Peaches, a two-track delight that feeds both body and spirit.
“Peaches” kicks off with Not Not’s own vocals, a recurring creative choice that the rising star takes pride in as he cuts his way through the scene. It makes total sense because his voice is uniquely attractive, and this performance ends up lingering long in the brainwaves. When lyrics stick steadfastly, it often quickly garners banger status, and “Peaches” has just enough vocal quirk to get the crowd buzzing. All that’s needed is a fun and flirty bassline, a splattering of wacky top-end details, and boom – the dancefloor goes wild; Signature Not Not.
The b-side proves to be just as fun as its counterpart. “So Fly” will have you “cruisin’ down the street and lookin’ so fly” as your feet shuffle and groove to its edgy tech attitude. Beyond the fierce lyric line, the hollowed-out mechanic synths really make this track pop. It’s easy to imagine the crowd effortlessly flowing to its electric rhythm – mixing, mingling, and soaking in the communal vibes, exactly what the dancefloor was designed for.
