Dubfire Announces Debut Album 'EVOLV' with First Two Singles

**Dubfire releases Dark Matter / Dust & Gas in preparation for the release of his debut album, EVOLV, on his SCI + TEC imprint!**

You read that right, Dubfire, the man who’s been crushing the scene for nearly three decades both individually and as one-half of Grammy-winning duo Deep Dish, is finally treating us to a full-length album! The name is appropriately titled EVOLV and its inspiration comes from his two-year HYBRID tour and compilation that broke boundaries and changed the game. Featuring 11-tracks, Dubfire proudly kicks off the road to EVOLV with a two-track package, Dark Matter / Dust & Gas.

“Dark Matter” is a tune packed full of fire and grit, chugging through the airspace with unyielding consistency. All the special auditory details will make you feel weightless and ready to float into oblivion. A slight dissonance between the top notes and bassline gives this track loads of underground appeal. And you can’t help but love when the accents evolve later in the track in the eeriest kind of way, adding to the sideways splendor of an already mesmerizing journey of sound.

The b-side, “Dust & Gas,” places us in a minimal frame of mind, a style that Dubfire has mastered throughout the years. This tune is soft and vibey in all the right places and simmers with cosmic energy. A true highlight comes in the form of a twisted cyborg vocal, teasing the mind with flickers of strange noises as the cool festive undertone keeps us gliding around the dancefloor. With the first two tracks now out in the open, it’s becoming crystal clear that EVOLV plans on shaking Dubfire fans to the core!

And so it begins; the long-gestating debut album missive. Something that’s been a slow work in progress ever since the HYBRID compilation which helped me both celebrate, AND put behind, that fruitful first decade as a solo artist. Sure there have been remixes, collabs and the odd singles, but this one is a more cohesive, interwoven and personal statement, aimed squarely at the dance floor. Celebrating the darkness and beauty of our modern times – and always EVOLVing.
