Rossy, one of the talented artists performing at the debut edition of Heatwave Music Festival, gives us a look at her must-haves on tour.
Heatwave Music Festival is only a few days away and those attending should be best prepared! Just like festival attendees, the artists have a list of essentials to bring along with them, as well as special items that help them get from one festival and club show to the next. Rising bass artist Rossy, who is set to perform at Heatwave on Saturday, gave us the inside scoop on the essential items she takes with her on tour and we resonate with them deeply.

Rossy found comfort in music when moving from place to place at a young age, which fueled her desire to work in the industry. Just as in most other genres of music, the electronic music scene is a male-led industry, yet women like her are breaking down barriers and climbing the charts. Being a woman in the industry can be a different experience, yet she’s managed to push through and stay true to herself and her music by sharing nothing but bumping mixes and releases that blend trap, bass, and classical components to create something unique.
When asked about what she brings along with her while on the road, the first item she mentioned was her stuffed unicorn named Monkey, who “goes everywhere” with her. While her plush friend might offer some comfort, there are some other must-haves that she brings along as well. “I personally don’t like flying so the noise cancellation on my AirPods really helps,” she said before also shining a light on another favorite accessory of hers, an eye mask, because “you never know when you are going to be able to sleep when you’re on the road.”
The work never really ends for DJs when they’re on tour either, and whether she’s on a plane or in a hotel room, her laptop goes with her everywhere. “[My laptop] is obviously is my whole entire life so I always have to have that with me,” she stated. And it’s always important to stay energized as well, so you can count on Rossy to have some snacks on hand wherever she goes. Explaining the reason she said, “I always keep a ton of snacks in my bag so if I am in a rush and on the go I’m ready!”
Don’t sleep on Rossy’s set among the many big performances at Heatwave this weekend, she’s taking over The Reverie stage at 3:30pm on Saturday. And if you’re not able to catch her there, she has a stacked list of festivals on the horizon as well including HARD Summer, Breakaway Music Festival in Michigan, Ohio, Kansas, and Moonrise Festival. Additionally, she’ll be touring with Whethan in a number of cities – so be on the lookout for your chance to catch her!
