Fans of Victor Ruiz can dive into the deep, dark techno abyss of his creation with the Beruit EP out now on all streaming platforms.
Berlin-based DJ and producer Victor Ruiz likes to think of his music as an art form and his releases on labels Noir Music, Voltaire Music, Yoshitoshi Recordings, and Natura Viva have only further proven that. Over the years he’s also toured all around the world and recently took the stage as part of events curated by Cityfox. Techno lovers have been drawn into the vast worlds he creates with his music and continue to get swept away by his performances, and now he’s returned to Drumcode to drop his latest EP, Beirut.
Each of the four tracks on the Beirut EP is masterfully crafted and staggered with deep, rumbling basslines that keep listeners going and going. The layers of kicks and subs and some kind of synths are cohesively put together to make a work of art. The title track is an immediate standout and begins with hi-hats in a repeating loop before you’re greeted with the warping synth to take you into a whole new dimension.
From there, Victor Ruiz guides listeners through “Confession” and “Jurema” before arriving at “Omen.” This tune stands tall as well, as Victor Ruiz taps into the very roots of techno with its layered elements and driving energy. Listeners will hear the echoing of the notes that drive right into a very classic downer (rather than a riser or a drop) that brings the track back to the darkness as the trip into the techno realm comes to a close.
