This year’s edition of Electric Forest features a plethora of talented artists to check out, and here are five you certainly shouldn’t miss!

After a long-awaited two years, Electric Forest is finally back in its home of Sherwood Forest, and fans can’t wait to get back to exploring its expansive grounds. As usual, there are awesome headliners to catch like GRiZ, Disclosure, Porter Robinson, FISHER, Big Gigantic, and more, but let’s not forget about those artists that are under them on the bill.

Just because an artist’s name isn’t the first one you see on the lineup doesn’t mean you should skip their set. If anything, it is more of a reason to explore Electric Forest to catch artists you haven’t heard of yet. There are so many great names on the lineup this year, so to help you navigate the artists who might be flying under your radar, we’ve curated five we feel you should definitely catch.

If you don’t have tickets yet, not to worry, you can still purchase them via the Electric Forest ticket exchange. Don’t sleep on this year’s edition if you have the chance to attend!

Emotional dance music with hopeful, inspiring spoken word, and poetic lyrics is what the world needs at this moment. That’s exactly what Fred Again.. gives you. Fred John Phillip Gibson is a British multi-instrumentalist who takes videos from online and puts fantastic beats over them to give them an even more powerful feeling. For instance, “Marea (We’ve Lost Dancing)” is from a speech by The Blessed Madonna talking about how marvelous post-pandemic shows would be, once you reunite with your friends on the dance floor. So put your “Loving Arms” around your festival bestie because this set is full of love and is surely going to make you move.

Elderbrook

You may have heard of Elderbrook, or at least heard his voice before. This English musician, producer, and songwriter specializes in heartfelt electronic music. Elderbrook released his first album Why Do We Shake In The Cold in 2020 and has had an ever-growing fan base since then. Additionally, his smooth vocals are featured in the song “Cola” by CamelPhat, and a handful of Hayden James tracks.

Elderbrook was last at the EF in 2018 performing in the daytime with a crowd of about 30 people who could not stop dancing. The energy that he has on stage is unmatched; he wants you to dance, wants you to groove, and he certainly wants you to enjoy yourself. This is a set you won’t want to miss.

Franc Moody

If you’re looking for a funkified disco kind of show and plenty of “Dopamine,” Franc Moody definitely the group to give it to you. Full of slappin’ baselines, fun lyrics, and grooving guitar chords, the musical duo from London consists of Ned Franc and Jon Moody. These two take funk to a whole new level. They have been releasing music together since 2018, with their first album released called Dance Moves. Which is an absolute hit of a record.

DJ Holographic

If you’re looking for some true Detroit techno, along with a mix of mighty powerful disco, DJ Holographic is the set to catch. Being born and raised in the Motor City, techno is in her blood and she is described as a one-woman-funk-machine. She has been getting praise from elite DJs such as The Blessed Madonna and Carl Craig. Her latest single is “Faith In My Cup“ released in 2020, and her most recent remix is of the Majorettes’ track “House Amazing.” The mixes she throws down are full of blissful beats and tasty tracks. If you’ve got the chance to see her, do it, because you will not regret it.

Cassian

If you’re in the mood for some vibing house and four-on-the-floor beats, then Cassian is the set for you. Consistently rocking the crowd every time he performs, the Australian producer is sure to have a stellar performance at Electric Forest this year. With a newly released EP Reactivate, fans are sure to be treated to sounds from this amazing body of work. Cassian has worked alongside Electric Forest veterans such as Rufus Du Sol, Hayden James, Yotto, and more, not to mention working with fellow 2022 performer Elderbrook. With thumping basslines and grooving melodies, the energy he brings to the fans is something you will not want to miss.
